PAPUA New Guinean designers should be protected , says Tourism and Culture Minister Emil Tamur wants done.
Tamur challenged the National Museum and Arts Gallery to look into its policies and regulations in order to protect designers and models.
He was speaking on Saturday at the launch of the PNG Fashion Festival in Port Moresby .
“More needs to be done – the policies and legislations needs to be looked into so that our designers and models are greatly protected within the country,” he said. “We need to strengthen our copyright laws … and two of these laws are within the National Museum and Arts Gallery, but we really need to protect our designers in the country.
