IT’S going to be a brother against brother affair when Enga Mioks take on the Hela Wigmen on Sunday in the Digicel Cup in Wabag.

Many rugby league followers in Hela and Enga say the game between the two teams will replicate a common traditional saying that two Hela brothers of Hela Opone and Hela-Huli, who had fought fiercely over a piece of possum meat centuries ago near Mt Kare gold project.

The Stanley Hondina-coached team will be a fired-up band on Sunday after upsetting the Gurias, 34-24, last week, in Mendi.

Hondina’s inside knowledge as a former Mioks trainer will come in handy to contain the likes of David Loko, Esau Siune and Jeffrey Maino.

On the other end, Mioks with the usual partisan home crowd urging them on, will be there to prove to critics that their crushing victory over Mt Hagen Eagles 48-10 last week was no fluke.

The home team will relay greatly on the lethal halves combination of Roger Laka and Charlie Simon to create early tries and keep their opponents under pressure.

The combination of try-scoring machine Pasu Awani, Tiger Emere, Maino and entertainer, Glen Abavu, will be a handful for the Helas.

The home team also will have extra advantage with tireless ball runner and Kumul Siune leading the forward pack to bring his marauding back-row into the game.
