Mirisim welcomes tribunal decision

TELEFOMIN MP and Forest Minister Solan Mirisim has welcomed the reinstatement of Patrick Pruaitch as member for Aitape-Lumi and Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Trade following a recent leadership tribunal decision.
“As a fellow MP from West Sepik, I welcome the decision by the leadership tribunal to reinstate Pruaitch to his office, to resume his duties,” Mirisim said.
“It is a relief for us in the province, as well as the Government, to have a very experienced leader of his caliber back in our fold.”
“His (Pruaitch) experience and wise counsel will most certainly be needed as the Government continues to implement its programme to revive the national economy which has been severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.”
Mirisim said it would be beneficial for all MPs from the Sepik provinces to work together to ensure their communities, especially those on the border with Indonesia, recovered from the pandemic and disruptions caused to the people’s daily lives and businesses.
“Our people in Oksapmin, Telefomin, Lumi, Aitape, Nuku, Green River and Vanimo are hardworking, resilient people,” he said.
“They want leaders representing them at the national level to work together, so that government programmes implemented to revive the economy, in areas like agriculture, also reach them.”
Pruaitch was fined K3,000 by a leadership tribunal on Monday for late submissions of annual statements.
Tribunal chairman Justice Panuel Mogish fined Pruaitch K1,000 each for three allegations.
