Mitchell focussing on goal-kicking

SYDNEY: It’s not often you come back from the city of churches with a haunting memory.
But after watching his teammates spray all four attempts with the boot last week, Sydney Roosters star Latrell Mitchell knows just how daunting the goal-kicking role can be.
It was in the Roosters’ only game against grand final opponents Melbourne this year — down in Adelaide — when Mitchell fluffed a penalty goal from in front late in the contest.
Storm captain Cameron Smith then nailed a 40m field goal for a one-point victory.
“I’d rather the boys score on the sideline and I’ll do a job from there because it’s a lot easier I reckon to kick it from there,” Mitchell said.
“When you get to the front, I reckon it’s a lot harder because it’s deceptive, the posts.” – AAP
