MOBIL Oil New Guinea, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil PNG, has commissioned a third loading arm at its Port Moresby terminal to increase capacity, says general manager Charles Ewart.
He said the increased capacity through its bottom-loading facility would allow faster and safer truck loading of diesel and petrol.
It should enable a shorter delivery time from the facility to customers.
“The impact of this third arm is significant to our operations,” he said.
“These upgrades reduce loading times by an hour per truck load, and it increases our daily output from less than 20 trucks per day to over 30 trucks with high quality fuel.”
Ewart added that Mobil remained committed to continued investment in its people, processes and facilities to increase fuel supply and improve its customer service.
ExxonMobil PNG chairman and managing director Tera Shandro said: “We support the country’s energy supply security, something that is crucial to the everyday lives of Papua New Guineans. We have ongoing nationwide investments, with fuel projects worth K40 million in the pipeline to help us reliably meet the fuel demands of our customers in the country.”
Mobil plans to provide a new bottom-loading facility at its Lae terminal next year.
The company has been supplying quality fuel to its valued customers around the country for more than a century, through its network of terminals, retail service stations and wholesale customers.
