Momase Cup put off

Normal, Sports

MOMASE Regional Soccer Federation (MRSF) has deferred the Momase Cup challenge to March.
In joint statement, federation president John Peka and acting general secretary Suanika, said the 30th Momase Cup had been deferred from Jan 21-24 to March 18-21.
They said the main reasons for the deferral were that most associations in region who were interested did not pay up their affiliation fees.
Secondly, only few teams in host district, Markham, had paid their fees and the federation had strongly advised that it would not entertain certain sectors of region dominating the tournament.
Peka and Suanika said the local organising committee (LOC) had strongly recommended that the tournament be deferred to a later date until the federation fully endorsed it.
They said all participating associations should contact the following MRSF executives for further information.
They are Peka on 72468352, Suanika 72358976 and referee coordinator Gidas Bayung 72639806.
All affiliation fee of K500 should be deposited into MRSF account No: 11607456, ANZ Bank, Lae.
The affiliation fee covers K300 nomination fee while the balance of K200 goes to the federation.
