Monitor public servants’ work

Letters

IT is a norm for public servants to turn up to their offices after 8:05am and leave before 4.06pm.
Punctuality of public servants has been very poor for many years.
Nothing is done to stop this.
Some public servants show up so late, which results in clients or the public spending more on travel or accommodation expenses to check again on a later date after travelling some distances to be served by the officers.
This has to stop.
This is a call to the Public Service Minister and the Department of Personnel Management to quit giving excuses and implement a clock-in system such as the biometric system so that public servants will be punctual at work and paid according to the number of hours they put in.
Let’s be fair now to everyone.
