More lucky winners for masthead comp

National

FOUR people including a 14-year-old girl have won this week’s masthead competition in The National.
Ruth Korowa, from Taguba in Western Highlands, a grade seven student at the Hohola Demonstration Primary School in Port Moresby said it was her first win.
“My dad buys the paper everyday so he decided I try this out,” she said.
“We’ve been trying since August and this time we got lucky.
“So I’m excited.”
Korowa plans to save the K250 prize money for a church camp in Lae next year.
Another winner from Port Moresby, Seai Seseve, was thrilled. “I never expected this win because my mom and aunty had always been the ones dropping in the mastheads” he said.
“I will give the money to my mom because I feel she deserves it more than I do.”
Seseve said his mother never missed out on buying the paper and had always encouraged him to read.
He plans to use the cash to upgrade his marks at the University of PNG Open Campus.
Lae winner Geraldine Kwasingli will use the K250 prize money to purchase a gown for her graduation.
She is a final year accounting student at the International Training Institute (ITI) in Lae.
“I thank The National for the chance given to us who regularly buy newspapers,” she said.
Cunera Kakau another K250 winner.
