Moresby fuel prices lower

PRICES for petrol, diesel and kerosene in Port Moresby have decreased by between 3t and 6t this month.
The price of petrol went down by 6t to K3.71, compared to K3.78 last month while diesel decreased by 3t to K3.41 from K3.45. Kerosene also went down by 4t to K3.12.
The Independent Consumer and Competition Commission said the adjustments were attributed to the decreases in crude oil prices last month.
Commissioner and chief executive officer Paulus Ain said as part of the commission’s role on enforcement and compliance, officers would inspect all service stations to ensure that prices of petroleum products did not exceed the maximum prices approved by the commission.
The ICCC inspectors will conduct spot checks to ensure ongoing compliance by fuel operators.
