THE Malalaua-Aseki road project, referred to as the “missing link”, will finally become a reality, Kerema MP Pitom Bombom said on Wednesday.
“The Malalaua-Aseki road is truly a missing link road which will connect the people from these two areas for the first time,” he said.
The road will link Port Moresby, Gulf and Morobe.
Bombom thanked former Foreign Minister Don Polye for taking up this project while attending the Korea Pacific Islands Foreign Affairs ministers meeting in South Korea last week.
The 111km road project will cost around K3.7 billion.
Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare and Polye approved K472 million in this year’s budget.
“I am pleased the South Korean government is making this project a priority,” Bombom said.
