THE Moresby South Rugby League (MSRL) executive committee has suspended its competition for a week to allow clubs to complete their player registrations.
Chairman Brown Murema said the competition would resume on Friday after the recess.
Murema said the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) had set May 31 as the deadline for player registrations.
During the PNGRFL annual general meeting early this year, he warned clubs to comply with competition requirements and meet deadlines.
“I want all teams to register their players before the resumption of the competition,” Murema said.
“Only registered players will take the field and no excuses will be entertained. MSRL has given more than two months’ notice.
“Club executives are responsible for ensuring all players are registered.”
Meanwhile, newcomers, Miro Koivi West jumped to the top of the ladder after defeating 6-Mile 6-4 in a match that went down to the wire.
Previous leaders Koki Eels dropped to third after going down to Vadavada United 6- 4.
Muni Knights sit on second spot after upsetting JB Roosters 12-8 and Warako Storm edged Vikings 2-1 to leap from ninth to sixth.
In the women’s division, Warako remain on top after a bye, with Gabutu Dragons holding down second spot after thrashing Southern Sisters 24-0.
