THE Port Moresby Women’s Softball Association has now deferred its competition to May, according to president Ian Soweni.
“This is only if the coronavirus situation improves,” he said.
“The Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation (PNGSF) has imposed a ban on all its facilities for 30 days.
“Therefore, our preliminary finals set for this weekend have now been deferred.”
Soweni said the games that were scheduled to be played over the weekend were Bears v Chebu (B grade) and Bears v Gazelle (A grade).
At the resumption of the finals, the winners will go through to face fellow grand finalists Gazelle (B grade) and United Sisters (A grade), who won their respective semifinals.
“We will keep you posted,” Soweni told the players, officials and fans.
Meanwhile, all PNGSF facilities were closed over the weekend and its staff were manning the gates at Bisini and Bava Park when The National checked the venues on Sunday.
