Mori praised for K70,000 grant

A SENIOR provincial affairs and local level government officer has commended Chuave MP Wera Mori for allovating K70,000 towards the co-funded World Bank-national Government pilot service delivery programme.
Provincial government and city authority acting director Peterson Kassam said Mori was the first MP from selected districts and provinces to contribute funds from his district services improvement programme (DSIP) towards this programme.
Kassam said this last Friday when receiving K70,000 from Mori at Mingende Catholic Mission in Chimbu.
He said community projects would be facilitated by his department for the next five years under the rural service delivery project at LLGs in 19 districts of five provinces.
These LLGs are:

  • Rigo Central, Aroma Coast, Mekeo-Kuni and Sogeri in Central;
  • Lake Murray and Kiunga Rural in Western;
  • Toma/Vunadidir, Raluana, West Pomio/Mamusi and Balanataman in East New Britain;
  • East Wabei, Yangkok, Telefomin and Walsa in West Sepik; and,
  • Kumai/ Bomai, Gena/Wangla, Siane and Suawi in Chimbu.

“Mori is the first out of 19 MPs and five governors who has contributed his counterpart funds to deliver projects in his electorate,” Kassam said.
