Morobe and Central reign in darts competition

TEAM Central and Morobe dominated in the 2017 BSP PNG Games darts competition at the San Remo Club in Kimbe, West New Britain.
Central won the women’s and men’s doubles last Thursday and on Saturday Morobe dominated the mixed doubles.
Central 1 women’s team of Sandra Hekwa and Rarua Henao won gold while Team Morobe 1’s Vavine Dane and Rosie Mileng settled for silver. The bronze medal went to Southern Highlands 3 duo Roselyn Hangu and Grace Satio.
In the men’s doubles, Central’s Julius Raka and Jimmy Apoe had the upper hand over National Capital District’s Toka Ben and John Morea to win gold.
NCD got silver and Morobe’s Rodolf Massam and Junior Soweni bagged the bronze medal.
In Saturday’s mixed doubles, Team Morobe dominated the show winning the gold and silver medals while Eastern Highlands pipped Central for the bronze medal.
The Morobe affairs was tough journey with Morobe1’s Junior Soweni and Alma Semy beating Madang 1, Milne Bay 1, and Central 3 to meet Central 6 in the semifinals.
Morobe 1 beat Central 6 2-0 in the best of three games and booked the first spot in the gold medal playoff.
In pool one, Morobe 2’s Jason Mark and Ruby Wilson had to overcome Gulf 2, Madang 2, EHP1 to face EHP3 in the decider.
Mark and Wilson beat EHP3 2-0 to face Morobe 1 in the gold medal playoff.
The experience of Wilson and Mark proved enough to earn them a 3-0 over their fellow Morobeans.
In the bronze playoff EHP3 bounced back from a 2-0 deficit to beat Central 6 3-2.
