Morobe poll challenged

Letters

IT should be brought to light that certain aspects of the election for the Morobe regional seat in the recent general election failed to meet the standards of a free, fair and honest democratic election.
To begin with, the ballot boxes for the provincial seat were all moved to Lae from the nine district locations of the province, making it difficult for proper checks and balances.
This was a new change and contrary to past elections in Morobe.
As a candidate (who finished fifth), I feel deprived of my right to a fair, transparent and democratic election because the electoral processes were not properly followed.
On behalf of my voters and supporters I hereby call upon the Electoral Commission to explain to the people of Morobe and Papua New Guinea why the election in the province was done this way.
