Morris returns for Hunters against Pride

BUTLER Morris makes his return on the wing for the Papua New Guinea Hunters’ Queensland Intrust Super Cup round-15 clash with Northern Pride in Cairns on Sunday.
Morris earned a recall following an impressive performance with the Lae Snax Tigers during last weekend’s Digicel Cup round-12 match against the Hela Wigmen.
“Butler is a notable inclusion this week,” Hunters assistant coach Glen Nami said yesterday.
“He has being patient, doing the little things right and he played well for the Tigers. I think he earned his spot this week so I can’t wait for him to go out there and give his best.”
Morris will start alongside centre Daniel Tapol who replaces Brendan Nima.
Nami said Nima had been given a week off for personal reasons.
“Brendon Nima needed time off with his family,” he said. “He asked if he could take a week off and we excluded him this week but he will definitely join us next week.”
Meanwhile, the other five Kumuls players will return to the Hunters camp later this week where they have being named to start in their respective positions.
Nami said the bye last weekend gave the Hunters some much-needed rest for the team.
He said the players were eager to get back into it following their win over the Tweed Heads Seagulls last time out.
“After coming back from the break, they all looked fresh – not just physically but mentally,” Nami said.
“It showed in the training and I’m sure we will have a good week.”
