Mother, daughter attacked

A MOTHER and her daughter are admitted at the Angau Memorial Hospital after their home was set on fire by people accusing them of engaging in sorcery.
They were ambushed at the Ado Compound in Wau, Morobe, on Monday. Provincial police commander Superintendent Alex N’Drasal said locals from Kumalu in the Mumeng LLG had blamed the mother and daughter for causing the death to a man through sorcery.
“They raided the compound and tortured the mother and the daughter but police in Wau intervened quickly and saved their lives,” N’Drasal said.
He said at least 20 people were involved in the torture.
“We are making arrangements for these suspects to surrender and given them until tomorrow (today) before police to move in,” he said.
