TARI MP and Finance Minister James Marape has allocated K814,000 to seven cooperatives in his electorate to help support people to participate in agriculture activities.

Marape rolled out the agriculture programmes yesterday in Tari, Hela, urging the people to get back to agriculture.

A cheque for K364,000 was allocated to cattle farming, K100,000 to pig farming, K100,000 for poultry, K100,000 for coffee and K50,000 was allocated to fishing and citrus horticulture.

Marape told public servants, businessmen and women, to allow villagers who made a living through substance farming to obtain money from these seven cooperatives.

“Get into agriculture, make your money and live in the village. There is no free hand-outs, so make use of the start-up money.

“There should only be one representative from a family to get money,” Marape said.
