MP assists students with school fee subsidy

 NORTH Waghi MP Dr Fabian Pok has given K30,000 as school fee subsidy to 56 students from the electorate attending the Highlands Youth Training and Rehabilitation College in Jiwaka.

Student representative Paul Sabusaid the support would help students complete their studies.

He said Pok has been sponsoring tertiary students and prioritising education would benefit a lot of people and bring changes and development.

Sabu said 75 per cent of the students had been suspended because they could not pay their school fees.

They sought Pok’s assistance.

“We wrote to his office and the support came on time giving us the opportunity to complete our studies,” Sabu said.

He said they had been struggling to meet the high fees.

“Education alone can bring the world close to us and we are very much thankful to Pok,” Sabu said.

Sabu said many children in the villages wanted to be in school but the only problem was they could not afford the fees.

He said students from North Waghi were privileged and happy because Pok had been assisting them.
