USINO Bundi MP Jimmy Uguro is helping Ramu block 1 landowners to set up a company to manage benefits from the logging industry.
Uguro, who is also Education Minister, held a meeting with the landowners last Wednesday.
“As political leaders, we must find ways and avenues to help our people where we can,” he said.
“Leadership is all about helping people to achieve their visions and economic independence.”
Landowner representative and Gama LLG president David Bepang said it had been quite a while such a meeting had been held and “we are very happy with having our local MP hearing out our grievances”.
“We want to see this discussion fruitful and helpful to all landowners,” he said.
