BOGIA MP Robert Naguri is frustrated over the Finance Department’s delay in releasing an investigation report into the Madang government regarding claims over the misuse of Manam Restoration Authority (MRA) funds.
He told The National yesterday that nine months had passed since a team from the Finance Department was sent to investigate the use of MRA funds but no report had been produced and given to him.
“As the person who requested the investigation and report, I would like to know who is sitting on this report and why,” he said.
Naguri told Parliament that on June 27 last year, the Madang government removed the final balance of the K6 million belonging to MRA and diverted it into Ramu Development Ltd, a company established by the provincial government to oversee major projects.
“Millions of kina earmarked for the people of Manam in the name of restoration and settlement have been released by the Government to the Madang government but these monies disappeared without trace or results,” he said.
