GOILALA MP William Samb says priority areas will not function if there is no infrastructure in place.

Launching the district’s five-year development plan in Tapini last Saturday, Samb said: “The government is ensuring that national infrastructures such as roads, bridges, etc are in place so that other sectors can function as a result.” Samb said there were three priority areas that the district will focus on and that is the upgrading and maintaining of the Tapini Highway, upgrading of all the old airstrips in the LLGs and to get the public servants to function.

“These are my priority number one business, because once we get this three in place and functioning, I believe health, education and law and order will also function,” Samb said.

He said discussions on the highway were already on with the Department of Works and a team was sent to do scoping to get the estimated cost from Mobile Mountain to Tapini Station.

“I am appealing to all public servants to come and live in the district because if we are here, we will force the system to function,” he said

“I am serious about taking Goilala forward, even though we have about three months to go and we just launched the 2015 budget.

“I am supposed to continue from where it was left off,” he said.
