BOAT operators and motorists have been warned to take precautions during the current wet weather conditions.
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Westly Nukundj said people travelling by road and sea should heed weather warnings.
“I appeal to small-craft operators and users to take precaution and heed these warnings seriously when planning to travel on our seas and waterways,” he said.
Nukundj warned small-craft operators in the maritime provinces to avoid overloading their vessels.
“I appeal to the provincial governments and districts to convey these warnings to all the small-craft owners and operators in their domain,” he said.
“The National Maritime Safety Authority will continue to convey these safety warnings for the small craft and larger vessels through the usual means of communications.
“A similar appeal to owners and operators of PMV buses, trucks and other road users that they should ensure vehicles are not overloaded and avoid speeding.”
