SINASINA-YONGOMUGL MP Kerenga Kua has appealed to his people not to stick their noses into the current administrative issues of the district as police are involved.

Members of the police fraud squad are investigating how a substantial amount of money went missing last year.

Former Sinasina-Yongomugl district administrator Bal Numapo was sidelined from office and replaced by acting administrator Wamil Gul.

Kua told more than 3000 people at the Muaina Secondary School last Thursday for the opening of buildings funded by Oil Search Ltd that the district “has gone through some turbulences at the public service level”.

“Some funds in the district went missing in 2014 and police are investigating the matter.

“I do not want you (people) to be involved and make it (investigation) a personal issue and talk here and there.”

Kua said the matter was with police.

He told the people that there was a commission of inquiry against him when he was the Minister for Justice and Attorney General but he had to go through the formal court process to clear his name.

He said the same would be done to those who are implicated in the current investigations in the district.
