MORESBY Northeast MP Labi Amaiu launched the electorate’s five-year development plan on Monday.

The 96-page plan comprises 12 sectors designed in line with the O’Neill Government’s Alotau Accord development priorities.

It was described as a roadmap that would pave the way for the electorate in five years and bring quality services to the people.

The launching was witnessed by partners, stakeholders, department heads and community members.

The electorate is the largest in NCD, stretching from Korobosea to Laloki and the Pacific Adventist University.

Amaiu, who is the Sports and Pacific Games Vice-Minister, said unfortunately many residents lived in squatter settlements where land tenure was not assured and without access to basic services such as water, sewerage and electricity.

He said that was outlined in the plan and it was his duty as a mandated leader to ensure his electorate had access to opportunities.
