A MEMORANDUM of Understanding has been signed between Jimi MP Wake Goi and the Chimbu Teachers’ College (STC) to allow Jimi students to study there.
Under the agreement, Jimi students will receive school-fee support under a corporate sponsorship arrangement.
Goi said Jimi students who are selected to study at STC will be provided accommodation at the school.
“I will build a dormitory here for Jimi students.
Every year I want to see 20-30 students enrol at this college.,” he said.
He said the arrangement should continue regardless of who the MP was. The development of human resource is crucial to a remote district like Jimi, he said.
He acknowledged the positive support from provincial administrator Joe Kunda Naur, college principal John Kaupa, the college
|board of governors, and other stakeholders.
Kaupa said the college started in 2013.
