RABAUL MP Dr Allan Marat has urged the East New Britain provincial administration to follow due processes when appointing and terminating public servants.

He said that when referring to former acting provincial administrator Wilson Matava who had been sidelined. Speaking at the Tavui Primary School graduation last week, Marat claimed Matava was being used like a “football” by the provincial administration.

He said Matava served as Rabaul district administrator until he was appointed acting provincial administrator and later as deputy provincial administrator.

“He was removed and asked to take up the district administrator position again but he is not their fool,” Marat said.

“How could he take back the position of district administrator when the incumbent Marakan Uvano is still there and who never received a letter of termination from the provincial administration?

“I am not here to attack the provincial administration but to speak on behalf of what is right. The processes must be followed.”
