Mt Hagen cops did a good job

 I CONGRATULATE the tireless efforts of the Mt Hagen po­lice who confiscated cartons of beer bound for Mendi and escorted by so-called Mendi-based police.

There are many hard working police officers in Mendi and the bad apples had painted a bad picture of the police force.

They have links with a syndicate and were told to provide escort from Tari.

There is a long convergence of hired vehicles that travel early in the mor­ning and are used to transport beer through Tam­bul and onto Upper Mendi.

Semi-trailers are also used to carry beer from Go­roka or Lae, where containers are welded and false receipts produced 

at Kaupena checkpoint.

The drivers disguise themselves with uniforms as if they are com­pany employees that bring cargo to LNG sites.

So once again, thumbs-up to the Mt Hagen po­licemen for a job well done.
