MUAY Thai fighter David Nane has been invited to the Kings of Combat show in Melbourne in February but needs support to make the trip.
Nane from Tari, Hela, will depart for Cairns at the end of the month to train under Francis MacDonald’s gym.
“I’ve decided to extend my visa for two years so I can live in Cairns and train and fight there,” Nane said.
“I’m training early to get myself right and fit becuase I’m expecting to be put in with a tough opponent.”
The Hela man has fought in five shows and winning four times and was looking forward to his next bout.
“Francis (MacDonald) has supported me a lot with gym sessions and accommodation which has made me into a better fighter.
“He’s been very supportive but I also need support here.
Nane also thanked sponsor David Slape of Hugo Canning, Minister for Immigration Petrus Thomas, National Capital District Commission social services manager Kila Dick, Hendy Kenamun, Bernard Perry, Likipi Real Estate and Vitis Industries for their support.
“These companies and individuals have contributed to my success and I’m grateful for their support.”
