Mum sets record straight on son

RELATIVES of Richard Pandia are disappointed with an article that was reported by this two weeks ago that incorrectly stated he was sponsored by the Minister for Sports to study in Brisbane, Australia.

Pandia plays with the Ipswich Jets in the Queensland Cup. Mother Theresa said the Pandia family funded Richard’s study in Abergowrie College where he graduated in Year 12 and continued to Griffith University in Far North Queensland.  He registered at the Nathan Campus as a fulltime student in business management last year. She said her son was not under the Tafe College sponsorship by Sports Minister Justin Tkatchenko, who had assisted with some donations only.

The Pandias are from Hagen Central in Western Highlands and not from the Southern Highlands as reported in this newspaper.
