Muthuvel reveals healthcare plan

HEALTHCARE services in West New Britain needed improving, Governor Sasindran Muthuvel has declared.
Addressing the West New Britain School of Nursing fifth graduation on Friday, Muthuvel urged the 31 graduates to be committed to serving the people, especially at the community level.
“You all will be the champions to promote quality healthcare in the province.”
He revealed that the provincial government had plans to increase the number of healthcare workers and improve many of the facilities in the province,” Muthuvel said.
“The provincial government is ready to support the improvement of healthcare facilities.”
Provincial Health Authority chairman Dr Mathias Sapuri said there were plans to have the nursing school become a university, offering degree programmes for the students.
“For the development of healthcare in West New Britain, we should have a university established here in the province and the health authority will support this.
“This is part of our plans for the future,” Sapuri said.
