MV Hiri Chief ferrying oil rig

Business, Normal

NEW Guinea Energy LTD (NGE) has advised that mv Hiri Chief departed Townsville, Australia last Thursday evening for Port Moresby.
The vessel was carrying with it an ADS Rig 6 and other equipment totalling about 700 tonnes.
NGE company secretary Lucy Rowe said this while providing an “update on drill rig movements” in a company announcement released to the markets, that due to a late change in instructions, the vessel would now clear PNG customs in Port Moresby.
She said once customs was cleared, the vessel would proceed to Panakawa in Western province in conjunction with mv Goada Chief loaded with drilling mud, cement and casing.
She said an updated timetable would be provided once customs clearance had been completed in the nation’s capital.
ADS’ Rig No. 6 is on its way to the Panakawa prospect in NGE’s 100% owned petroleum prospecting licence (PPL) 267 to start drilling.
