Mysterious deaths raising alarm

Letters

IN the last few weeks, there were dead bodies being brought to the Goroka Provincial Hospital morgue with similar wounds.
Some of the bodies had wounds that looked like they were being inflicted by sharp objects.
Some of the dead bodies had very similar wounds which raised suspicion.
One could easily distinguish this as an organised crime committed by hardcore criminals who may have planned well in advance before executing such brutal deaths.
It may have been to satisfy their thirst for blood without remorse nor respect to another individual.
Many have passed away without showing signs of illness or other natural causes.
Those dead have left behind loved ones not knowing they’d ever be seeing them again.
It is very sad to comprehend such fact.
I hope the Goroka Provincial Health Authority has informed police through the provincial police commander’s office and the Eastern Highlands Governor’s office about these crimes.
Police need to carry out investigations.
This is to gather relevant information and determine the cause of deaths.
All citizens of Goroka should keep a look out for these hooligans who are taking away innocent lives.
The public should stand together to ensure lives are protected.
This is the first time such case is happening in Goroka town where we see dead bodies going into hospital with similar wounds.
People will live in fear because no one is coming forward to give information or report this to the police.
Anyone with information should come forward before another innocent person passes on.
This business has to stop now!
Is this a cult practice or wounds cause by guns to scare and intimidate people?
Or is it the work of some drug addict?
Or an organised crime committed by professional criminals?
Or some crazy individuals with mental issues who acted in this animalistic manner?
Police really need to step up and carry out investigations before more lives are lost.
It is crucial that all appropriate sections within the law enforcement bodies, including parliamentarians in Eastern Highlands are aware of this.
It has already made Goroka town a fearful place to live in.
Eastern Highlands police should have an open line for emergency services manned by trained personnel to gather and process information for such cases.
The hotline should be accessible by duty officers who would respond to emergency cases.
