Nabak voters lift Wenge to lead Nawaeb open race

VOTERS in the Nabak local level government, Nawaeb electorate, Morobe province have pushed Kennedy Wenge to the front in the race for the open seat.
After count 15 around 3pm on Monday, Wenge led with 2,016 votes, followed by Masam Som on 1,323 and MP Timothy Bonga with 1,223 votes.
Early leader Yaeng Tahu has been relegated to the fourth spot with 1,089 votes.
The Wenges – Kennedy and brother Luther – were expected to poll strongly as Nabak LLG area was their stronghold.
Counts 6 to 15 were from  the nine Nabak boxes.
A total of 12,086 votes had been counted so far with 802 informal votes.
Counting is now into the Wain-Erap LLG area and local candidates are expected to poll strongly.
