Nasfund ‘textbal’ service upgraded

NASFUND contributors nationwide using Digicel service can now enjoy a cost-free service to enquire for their Nasfund balance through the newly upgraded facility called “textbal” service.
To request for balance, simply press *627*, your membership number, then press # key and press the “send” or call key on the cellphone handset.
Joint-chief executive officer for Nasfund Ian Tarutia announced yesterday at the Nasfund head office in Port Moresby that its 300,000 contributing members could enjoy the fast and convenient services free of charge.
Tarutia told the reporters there were more than 19,000 members using the “textbal” service at the time of the announcement.
 “The facility was the upgrade version of the previous monthly “textbal” service that would keep contributors keep updated on the contribution on a daily basis,” Tarutia said.
“The service is just like checking mobile credit balance on mobile phone handsets.
“The service also tellsl when the balance was last updated or when the Nasfund contributions by employers were made to,” the joint-CEO said.
He said the “textbal” service is only to applicable Digicel handset users. However, the fund is right now working to connect bemobile users to the service.
