MEMBERS of National Superannuation Fund Ltd (Nasfund) should note an increase in their contribution balances as their accounts were credited on the weekend, according to the superfund.
This followed the announcement of 4.3 per cent interest added to members’ accounts as per the 2022 financial report released last week.
Acting chief executive officer Rajeev Sharma said more than K260 million was paid to members’ accounts.
“Following the announcement of the fund’s 2022 results, which included an approved interest crediting rate of 4.3 per cent, our fund administrator worked over the weekend to credit all member accounts,” Sharma said.
“We are pleased to report that this was successfully completed on the weekend, with our systems restored on Sunday evening.
“Members can now view their updated balance via our members’ online portal on the Nasfund website.
“This interest payment will be narrated as ‘interest earned on contributions’, and is dated 31/12/2022.”
Meanwhile, Nasfund said in the coming days, the fund would also embark on regional employer conferences to engage with its membership to provide a review of the fund’s activities in 2022, as well what to expect this year.
This would begin with the fund’s Port Moresby conference for employers in the National Capital District which would be at the Hilton Hotel today.
The Port Moresby conference would be hybrid, with 400 employer representatives attending.
The Port Moresby conference will also be live-streamed via Zoom, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Employer representatives and members who are unable to attend in person should register online to join the conference.
Following the Port Moresby conference, the fund would meet with its members in Kokopo on Thursday, and Lae next Tuesday.
The employer conference in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands, has been deferred to early April due to the current restrictions on flights to Kagamuga Airport.
