Nasfund to improve data collection

THE National Superannuation Fund (Nasfund) will start a web service next month for members to update beneficiaries, says chief officer member services Charlie Gilichibi.
Gilichibi said Nasfund was trying to make member service the best in the updating of their beneficiaries.
“Those already registered on the app, website portal, you will see that if you need to update your beneficiaries, you can do that,” he said.
“In terms of beneficiaries, currently, the process is members have to complete their bio-data form, they have to go to the employer to authorise the form before it comes to Nasfund to update the beneficiaries.
“However we are building our App and website portal so members will be able to add or change beneficaries.
“You do not need to complete the forms anymore.
“You can log onto the app, onto the website or web portal and using second factor authentication, members will authorise their own updates of their own beneficiaries.
“That will be a big thing.
“We have 600,000 members and is very difficult to go and visit them every year, to update their beneficiary information.”
Gilichibi said members would not be able to update their dates of birth and names.
