IN preparation for their upcoming Cricket World Cup Division Two series in Scotland this month the Barramundis have two games at Amini Park against an invitational side, including six New South Wales players.
The 50-over games yesterday and today will provide quality opposition for the Barramundis as they transition from the T20 Smash format into 50-over cricket.
NSW visitors Jason Sangha, Nicholas Bertus, Greg West, Thomas Pinson, Jack Edwards and Mathew Gilkes.
The invitational side is captained by Barramundi Chad Soper, also based in Sydney.
Batting first, the Barramundis had no trouble adjusting to the longer format, finishing 8/302 with Lega Siaka top-scoring (99) before being trapped in front by Soper.
CJ Amini (58) and Sese Bau (50) had valuable time at the crease while West, Pinson and JB Reva all picked up two wickets.
The invitation side started the chase well at 2/85 with Bertus and Gilkes putting on a 130-run partnership.
The middle order all got starts but the team eventually fell five runs short.
