THE National Soccer League will observe a two-week break from Sept 5 following tomorrow’s matches in the Southern and Northern Conferences.
The break will also see the opening of the transfer window for clubs wishing to bolster their rosters mid-season.
Papua New Guinea Football Association competitions director Roosje Suwae told The National yesterday that the break would also see a training camp for the men’s national team before final selections.
She said the window would be open from Sept 5-15 with franchise warned to follow the association’s guidelines. “All clubs are allowed only four transfers each during this period and this will also include new players who are not yet registered with another franchise,” Suwae said.
“The fee for transfers is K500 per player and payment must be made to the league’s Bank South Pacific Financial Group Limited account.”
Suwae said clubs that wanted to take part in the window must fill in transfer forms provided by her department, attached with a release or request letter.
“Clubs will be required to provide confirmation of transfer fee payment by way of providing a copy of the deposit slip (along with the transfer form and letter),” she said.“We will also require an updated master list from clubs following player transfers.”
Meanwhile, the first round of the season will end tomorrow with the second round scheduled to kick off on Sept 18 following the break.
