NCD settlements get first-aid training

FOUR urban settlement communities in Port Moresby have been presented with basic first-aid kits from City Pharmacy after successfully completing a basic first aid training programme funded by the Digicel Foundation.
The training, which ran for three days, saw two members each from the community learning centres of Paga Hill, Mutinneo, Ugabega, and Morata.
Participants from the four communities were nominated by their respective leaders to take part in the programme as part of the Digicel Foundation’s community learning centre sustainable programme.
Digicel Foundation chief executive officer Marina van der Vlies said the communities that were selected to be part of the first aid training showed that they were well organised and committed to ensure that their community members engaged in sustainable activities that would enhance their lives.
