The annual boxing challenge attracted teams from Gulf, Kairuku Amateur Boxing Association (KABA), NCD Team One and NCD Team Two and Enga.

The new champions started their campaign when PNG’s 49kg champion, Charles Keama won his bout on points. Keama joined the Defence club this season to pursue his boxing career.
Representing NCD for the first time, the 20-year-old Keama survived a knockout to beat Gabriel Martin, who represented Gulf to win the first contest of the afternoon.
