THE National Capital District Commission will continue to implement its Fencing Policy 2016 this month to continue improving the outlook of the city.
City manager Bernard Kipit, pictured, had reissued the warning to the city residents, property owners and businesshouses to ensure the rules and regulations are followed to achieve the desired outcome.
“The exercise will continue into implementing my short-term plan outlined on March 5, 2018 to remove any solid fences, such as colour-bond or sheet metal panels and continuous brick fences.
“The major operation follows the removal of razor wire and colour-bond fences in line with the fencing laws to protect premises purposely to merge the changes taking place in the city.”
Kipit earlier said that the fencing policy applied to the main arteries of Port Moresby and distributor roads of the city, adding that operation would be extended to settlements and suburbs throughout the city.
Meanwhile, the NCDC enforcement unit is yet to finalise a team for the implementation of new fencing to the suburbs areas of NCD.
The uprooting of old fences in the main city arteries are largely done.
The enforcement unit urged the public to contact them if they come across any old fences in the city premises.
