It is now all over for Tarangau, Kone Tigers, West, Kone Storms, Magani and Souths who all failed to make the top eight.
Minor premiers Paga Panthers — with 20 wins, two draws and three loses out of the 25 games played this season — recorded 42 points followed by Sisters (39), Hawks (35), Defence (35), Butterflies (35), Hohola Flies (31), Dobo Warriors (31) and Royals (27) to round out the top eight.
Unlike other teams in the women’s competition, the Flies have experienced hands in Cathy Neap, pictured, and Mala Mark leading their side full of new rookies into the finals.
Most of the teams in the bottom eight did not turn up for their matches over the past two weekends, resulting in forfeits.
A league statements said all the deferred games would not be played due to insufficient time.
To make up for the deferred games, the league will decide whether to give two points to the teams that missed out in the third game of round one.
