New CIC board of directors appointed

THE National Executive Council has appointed a new board of directors for the PNG Coffee Industry Corporation.
CIC chief executive officer Charles Dambui said eight of the 12 new members were sworn into office last Friday in the presence of Eastern Highlands provincial judge Gerard Vetunawa, Agriculture and Livestock Minister Tommy Tomscoll and Department of Agriculture and Livestock Secretary Dr Vele Pat Illa’ava.
Those sworn in were: Joseph Kom (Simbu Smallholders Coffee Growers’ Association), Jerry Anisi (Momase SHCGA), Patrick Komba (Enga and others SHCGA), Gad Wamiri (Plantation and Processors Association), Nick Ello (EHP SHCGA), Henry Ame (Exporter’s Council), Ellison Ketauwo (PNG Blockholders Coffee Growers Association) and Illa’ava.
The other four directors yet to be sworn in were: Jack Kulam (WHP SHCGA), Peter Hawi (Southern Region SHCGA); secretary or alternate (Department of Commerce and Industry) and secretary or alternate (Department of Treasury).
The last full term of the coffee industry board was in 2013.
Tomscoll commended the new board members and told them to uphold the values and vision of CIC.
