Major wholesaler and retailer City Pharmacy Ltd has revealed new logos to unite all its brands.
Group managing director Mahesh Patel said the new Stop N Shop and City Pharmacy logos were intended to show that the companies were part of one group.
“The new logos have incorporated PNG’s diversity, people and culture,” he said.
“The patterns that cuts across both logos is a reflection of patterns used in bilums and tapa cloth designs with a modern twist.
“The Bird of Paradise is also incorporated as it is the identity of PNG.”
The unveiling of the new logos coincided with the reopening of the Stop N Shop Waigani Central store which was opened to the public yesterday.
A large crowd of eager customers had the chance to be the first to shop in the store since its closure in 2015 after a fire destroyed parts of the building.
According to Patel, it took longer to re-open because the property’s insurer was in liquidation and the group had to raise its own capital.
He said the opening also marked the beginning of the group’s rebuilding programme.
Patel said all Stop N Shop retail outlets would be refurbished and rebranded with a new logo.
