New envoys named for Kokoda foundation

THE Kokoda Track Foundation (KTF) has welcomed Tania Nugent and Amelia Kuk as its two new ambassadors.
They join Wallaby rugby halfback Will Genia, Sharyn Ghidella, Michael Usher and Patrick Lindsay.
Nugent is a prominent television host, presenter, journalist and lobbyist for domestic violence and has worked extensively in media and communications across PNG and Australia.
Her career of more than 30 years, included 15 years at ABC Television and more recently as producer and host of Point of View with EMTV.
Kuk is a PNG international and Brisbane Broncos’ premiership winning women’s league player. The 23-year-old hails from Mt Hagen.
A registered nurse working in a surgical ward at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Kuk is also a master trainer for the Optimisation Hub which is an organisation delivering programmes to educate athletes about resilience and mental agility to consistently perform at their best.
KTF chief executive Dr Genevieve Nelson welcomed the two saying: “We are thrilled to have such remarkable women join our team.
“Tania and Amelia represent the strength, determination and resilience of women throughout PNG and give us all extraordinary examples to look up to and emulate.
“They are champions of gender issues in PNG and bring the many challenges facing women into public conversation.”
