The newly introduced financial leveraging system for landowners on Lihir Island will begin accepting applications today, according to a representative.
Lihir Mining Area Landowners Association (LMALA) social business limited manager Albert Negehove said after the facility was launched on July 1, one week was given to allow officers to prepare for expected workload coming in.
“The past few days have allowed us to properly set up the new office equipment that we had just received, run orientation programmes for officers especially on the LMALA financial plan and complete other administrative preparation work,” he said.
The loan facility was aimed at assisting and driving Lihir mining area landowners into owning small, medium and large business enterprises. It would also include MRL Capital driving the investment portfolio on behalf of the landowners.
