THE number of exploration licences being granted by the Mineral Resources Authority on a monthly basis has prompted Capt Phil Emeck to start up his own helicopter company to take advantage of the need this demand creates.
Emeck, who is chief executive officer of Heli Solutions, said yesterday that because of the geography of the country, the exploration licencees would be needing aircraft, which can assist them in their work.
He said this would extend as well to those companies who were beginning the drilling processes.
He was speaking on the occasion of receiving an Air Operators Certificate from Civil Aviation Safety Authority (Casa) chief executive officer Wilson Sagati.
Heli Solutions also received the Domestic Air Service Licence from Department of Transport’s Air Transport Division’s First Assistant Secretary William Vate to allow them to operate fully.
Emeck said Heli Solutions, which was just five months old, had so far secured mining clients and others who needed the services of their Bell 407 helicopter.
