New HIV care centre for Jimi

Highlands, Normal

PEOPLE of Jimi in the Western Highlands province have been told to respect themselves and others in order to help the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Jimi MP Wake Goi was speaking at the official opening of the first HIV/AIDS care centre in the district.
The newly opened K120,000 Kol Care Centre would cater for the people in the district who used to travel to Maria Kwin Care Centre in Banz and Tininga Care Centre in Mt Hagen.
Mr Goi challenged the people to practise healthy habits and appreciate their lives in order to make something useful out of it.
“You have one life, respect yourself as you respect others because your life is very unique and do not behave like animals,” he said.
He was referring to the increase of HIV/AIDS cases in the new Jiwaka province of which Jimi is a part of.
Mr Goi asked the people to take care of the centre, as well as other services being provided.
He pledged to assist in providing other equipment that would be needed in the care centre.
Mr Goi also thanked the Catholic Archdiocese in the province for their assistance and Kair Building Construction.
