New NAC asset management system planned

THE National Airport Corporation (NAC) has planned to use a new asset management system to manage and maintain its assets in the 22 airports nationwide, an official says.
NAC planning and asset manager Willie Kibi said this computerised system is designed to simplify the process of managing and maintaining the physical assets of an organisation.
“With the MEX system in place, reporting maintenance activities by email and telephone will be a thing of the past, staff can now use MEX through their computer, mobile phone and laptops,” he said.
“They would roll out this system in the Jackson and the Nadzab airports first and then into 22 other airports in the country by training the staff on how to use and understand the system.
“This rollout process involves training staff to use the system to register a company’s physical assets effectively to save the NAC the lifecycle cost and help develop an asset management plan.”
